Robotic Dogs Bring AI, Language Learning and Culture to Tsing Yi Trade Association Primary School

20/7/2025

EDU A.I. introduced a new STEAM learning experience at Tsing Yi Trade Association Primary School using an AI-powered robotic dog.

More than a robot that can walk and dance, the robotic dog can support language learning, AI conversation, cultural education, and interdisciplinary activities. Powered by Parami AI’s MegaChat platform, it gives students and teachers a more interactive way to explore how AI and robotics can be applied in everyday learning.

From Robot Demonstration to Learning Experience

The robotic dog quickly captures students’ attention with its movements and interactive features, but its educational value goes much further.

Students can programme the robot to perform activities such as a lion dance, connecting technology with Chinese festivals and cultural traditions. The same platform can also be extended into language learning, giving students opportunities to practise Cantonese, Putonghua, and English through interactive conversation.

By combining technology with familiar learning contexts, students can learn through exploration, interaction, and play.

Making Language Learning More Interactive

Teachers can set different topics and scenarios for students to practise through voice interaction and role-play with the robotic dog.

Examples include:

  • English: Practise everyday conversations and role-play scenarios to strengthen speaking and listening skills.
  • Putonghua: Simulate real-life situations such as shopping and travelling to practise pronunciation and conversational responses.
  • Interdisciplinary Learning: Explore topics such as animal conservation or Chinese festivals through bilingual discussion, inquiry, and presentations.

These activities turn language practice into a broader learning experience that combines communication, creativity, technology, and problem-solving.

Connecting Technology with Culture and Interdisciplinary Learning

AI-powered robotics can also help schools move beyond traditional subject boundaries.

Through interactive activities, students can:

  • Build confidence in language and communication
  • Explore culture through hands-on experiences
  • Strengthen AI and technological literacy
  • Develop creativity, logical thinking, and teamwork

Rather than learning AI as a standalone topic, students can experience how technology connects with languages, culture, STEAM, and everyday life.

Looking Ahead: Expanding AI-Powered Learning Across the School

EDU A.I. will continue working with Tsing Yi Trade Association Primary School to explore new ways of integrating AI and robotics into learning.

Future development may include language-focused AI curriculum modules and school-based AI applications powered by Parami MegaChat, allowing robotic devices and AI tools to connect more closely with subject content and classroom activities.

The goal is to create richer, more interactive learning experiences while helping students build the skills and confidence to learn in an increasingly AI-powered world.
